Eurostat is a key Directorate-General of the European Commission, providing the European institutions, Member States, financial markets, business community, media and general public with a high quality statistical information service. With a staff of around 120 people and an annual budget of €16 million, Directorate C, Macro-Economic Statistics, focuses on national accounts, including methodology, indicators, production, price statistics, purchasing power parities as well as housing statistics. You will lead the activities of the Directorate and manage its human and financial resources.

Your responsibilities:

  • To lead the compilation, approval and dissemination of national account statistics and data;
  • To represent the Directorate in key relationships within the Commission and with external stakeholders including other EU institutions, national central banks and international bodies;
  • To manage both human and financial resources.

Your skills:

  • Very good knowledge of EU economic, budget and trade policies, including the monitoring of macro-economic imbalances, coupled with a thorough understanding of European statistics;
  • Proven ability to lead an administrative body with a large multinational and multi-sectoral team;
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal and negotiating skills and a results-drive approach to problem-solving.
