Role Purpose
Natural Resources Wales (NRW) is the principal adviser to Welsh Government on issues relating to the environment and its natural resources. We aim to underpin all our advice and actions with robust evidence. In addition to making use of evidence generated by others, NRW itself gathers evidence, notably through the environmental monitoring we carry out.
Monitoring Analysis Team was formed to make more use of the data we collect through our monitoring programmes as well as to support the use of evidence from remote sensing (satellite imagery, drones, etc). You will work as part of an enthusiastic team that includes environmental data analysts, data managers and remote sensing specialists.
We are looking for someone to support our data analytical and especially our remote sensing activities while the current postholder is on secondment. This is a good opportunity to gain experience in an expanding and innovative area of NRW’s work. Depending on your skills, you will have the opportunity to contribute directly to analytical work or to support other aspects of the team’s work (such as the development of guidance or intranet material).
