We have two Medical Statistician posts available at the Faculty of Life Sciences and Medicine. The purpose of the post(s) are to provide medical statistics advice and analysis for projects. Both posts are detailed below:

Either post would suit an independent person who has skills and experience in medical statistics.

The Centre post particularly would benefit from someone who has experience in medical imaging and/or clinical trials. The aim of this role is to provide ongoing medical statistic support for the researchers within the Centre and for KiTEC, providing advice for project applications, performing ongoing statistical evaluations and contributing to assessments and reports for a range of different projects and studies. The post-holder will be based largely at the St Thomas’ Hospital campus, where the Centre is located with links and access to the King’s Health Economics team based at Denmark Hill. The job provides an opportunity to lead inputs in meta-analyses, clinical trial methodology and design, analysing real-world data, cost analyses, economic evaluations alongside trials, modelling, health technology assessment of medical devices and other large studies with direct impact on policy development in the NHS.

The other role available will be based in the School of Cancer and Pharmaceutical Studies and be a member of its cancer prevention group led by Prof Peter Sasieni https://orcid.org/0000-0003-1509-8744. The postholder will be contributing statistical support to policy-relevant research in cancer screening. The main duties of the postholder will be to take day-to-day responsibility for the statistical aspects of specific studies in the Cancer Research UK programme in cancer screening and statistics. This will include project planning and protocol development, study conduct, plans for all statistical analyses and liaising with the appropriate multidisciplinary teams to represent the statistics view and role.
