Job Description

In this role, you have the opportunity to help shaping innovative healthcare solutions in the field of collaborative chronic care management, digital diagnostics / therapeutics via mobile monitoring and remote patient monitoring for better care, health, experience and value. In addition, you will test and validate these solutions on their business or market prospect, financial sustainability, outcome accountability, risk sharing, societal value and evidence on effectiveness. Therefore, you will drive engagement with our customers, ecosystem stakeholders, payers and academic / clinical scholars in care delivery with the aim to arrive at market-ready propositions using health system insights, needs and prerequisites.

We are looking for an enthusiastic colleague who can strengthen the research team within the Remote Patient Monitoring & Chronic Care department and who combines competences in healthcare data science & analytics, healthcare economics, health sciences, health systems management, healthcare policy and healthcare business administration towards innovations in healthcare markets. You are responsible for

  • Applying, adjusting and advancing the state-of-the art on health economics, healthcare effectiveness, impact modeling and healthcare system ecosystem-wise thinking and adapting them for use in Philips Healthcare products, services, software and solutions in chronic disease management, out- of-hospital care and prevention in alignment with Philips overall strategy;
  • Making ambitions on valuation, business / revenue models, stakeholder networks, cost effectiveness, budget and return of investment concrete in project results or market propositions;
  • Analyzing and scouting the local healthcare markets (US, Benelux, DACH, UK), reimbursement schemes, healthcare legislation, competitors, technology trends and key opinions in various healthcare systems to ensure propositions are in line with market needs and expectations;
  • Engaging with customers, stakeholders, payers and academic / clinical scholars in care delivery in local and international healthcare markets in and outside of the EU;
  • Testing and validating healthcare propositions on remote patient monitoring and digital diagnostics / therapeutics with healthcare experts, patient groups, payers, providers, policy makers and prospective end-users in healthcare markets, by simulation and experimental study;
  • Conducting exploratory healthcare data analysis challenges to better understand propositions and end user insights in the markets;
  • Taking part in research projects that co-create healthcare innovations and transfer the results to Philips businesses and markets.

You are part of

Philips Research Eindhoven (see www.philips.com/research), one of the largest industrial Research organizations in the world, focusing on the area of ​​HealthTech. You will become a key team member with your own jobs-to-be-done together with colleagues with cultural diversity and having other professional specialties such as data scientists, clinical scientists, medical psychologists, designers and business developers. You will become part of a team of 12 researchers as direct colleagues and report to the Team Lead of Healthcare Analytics & Care Effectiveness (HACE).

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • PhD, excellent master degree or post-master degree in a relevant area such as healthcare analytics, healthcare economics, health sciences, health systems management, healthcare policy and healthcare business administration and skillful in explorative healthcare data analysis and understanding;
  • Having good understanding of at least one of the following long-term medical conditions: heart failure, COPD, Diabetes or OSA and contributing factors such as aging, psychology and social-economic position;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong personal relationships at all levels, both internal and external to Philips Research, with patient groups and with stakeholders in the healthcare ecosystem, obtain their needs and be able to transform those into practical solutions that can be clinically, empirically and business-wisely validated;
  • Self-manager, coordination and facilitation skills of own research;
  • Team worker in multidisciplinary settings;
  • Academic profile combined with an entrepreneurial mindset;
  • Good track record in academic writing.
