We have an exciting opportunity for an exceptional Analyst to join our Research and Innovation Policy team. Working across the whole of the Academy, you will create a step-change in the way the Academy thinks about and uses analysis, both quantitative and qualitative. Your insight, expertise and analytic rigour will make our work go further and be more impactful.

About you

To succeed in this role, you’ll have good knowledge in a range of quantitative and qualitative research methodologies and be confident in applying them in different contexts across unfamiliar topics. You’ll be a skilled communicator, able to summarise complex information in an accessible, engaging way to a range of audiences. You must be able to link the analytical work with the bigger picture, and you’ll need to be great at collaborating.

This is an exciting opportunity for you to shape and develop the Academy’s analytical activities and we’ll provide you with excellent support to help make that happen.

Our excellent benefits package

We offer an unrivalled package of benefits including a non-contributory pension scheme, BUPA cash plan, private medical insurance, subsidised restaurant, regular social activities, health and wellbeing programmes and the possibility of flexible working, as well as significant investment into your personal and professional development.

About us

The Royal Academy of Engineering is harnessing the power of engineering to build a sustainable society and an inclusive economy that works for everyone. Together we’re working to tackle the greatest challenges of our age.

With a diverse workforce and an inclusive and supportive culture, we look to attract candidates from wide and different backgrounds who have a passion for the role engineering plays in society.

Why work for the Royal Academy of Engineering?

We are small enough that you will be known, seen and understood, and big enough to offer great benefits which you would usually associate with much larger organisations.

We’re looking for people who are driven to make the world a better place. If you’re passionate about what you do and want to work collaboratively with talented colleagues to make change happen now and for future generations, we want you to get in touch.

The role

From how to achieve Net Zero, to addressing the engineering skills gap, you’ll play a key role in finding creative ways for analytical activities to strengthen the insights, evidence and impact of our policy projects.

You’ll be the internal expert on analysis and will get to apply your skills across all our activities, from measuring the impact of our work, to improving diversity and inclusion in the engineering profession. You’ll collaborate with colleagues to scope, design, deliver and commission programme evaluations and relevant research.

Truly flexible working

We have an inclusive and flexible approach to hybrid working based on trust and respecting individual difference, with a fantastic central London office near St James’ Park. During COVID-19 all staff have been working remotely, but we are now transitioning to flexible working with an average of two days a week in the office. We are happy to discuss working patterns with candidates.
