About The Role

We are looking for an experienced Statistician/Mathematician to join a growing team working in a collaborative and mature environment with knowledge of the R Programming language and the R Studio suite of products. You will be providing statistical and methodological consultation on special statistical methodology or on complex statistical and scientific issues.

To be considered, you will hold a degree in statistics, mathematics, epidemiology or closely related discipline, or have equivalent experience, and have computing skills and the ability to use statistical analysis software packages.


Essential Skills

  • Good understanding of linear modelling, including GLMs (Poisson models etc.)
  • Experience building time series models - ARIMA, time series regression models etc.
  • Excellent R programming skills
  • Familiarity with R Shiny
  • Basic knowledge of version control with Git
  • Experience leading experimental design, modeling, analysis planning, analysis execution, interpretation, and statistical communications
  • Strong statistical skills enabling provision of statistical advice and document review across a broad range of statistical applications.

Desirable Skills

  • Basic SQL skills, experience working with databases
  • Experience working on R Shiny or other web applications in a production environment
  • Experience with any of: R Shiny Server,, R Studio Connect
  • Some knowledge of actuarial science / techniques is desirable
