This role offers the opportunity to play a central part in analysing data from the world’s largest rare kidney disease registry, helping drive research that influences clinical practice across the UK and beyond.

The National Registry of Rare Kidney Diseases (RaDaR, www.rarerenal.org) is the world’s largest rare kidney disease registry that integrates automated data feeds of clinical information from >30,000 patients recruited at >100 UK hospitals in order to facilitate study of rare kidney diseases. Analysis of these data have provided key insights into the epidemiology, natural history and clinical management of a range of diseases, providing key information to researchers and regulators aiming to improve their treatment, with data published in journals and at meetings globally. Salary: £41,500-£46,000 per year
Contract: 18 months – due to funding
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, flexible working, part time working will be considered

This is an excellent opportunity for a statistician to join a successful, collaborative and impactful organisation working closely with clinical teams, patient groups and research partners.
You will:
- Perform statistical analyses to answer a wide range of research questions, including understanding the natural history of rare kidney diseases and identifying factors associated with disease progression.
- Prepare high‑quality reports, manuscripts and data presentations for a variety of audiences.
- Manage, clean and validate RaDaR data sources.
- Support the development and maintenance of automated data collection, linkage and reporting processes, helping to streamline workflows and improve data quality and reproducibility.
- Prepare analysis‑ready datasets and contribute to continuous improvements in data governance and methodological standards.

About you:
- Degree in Statistics (or a closely related discipline)
- Experience performing statistical analyses using SAS
- Ability to work with large, complex datasets, including conducting data validation, quality checks and documentation with strong attention to detail
- Clear and confident communication skills, with the ability to explain findings to both technical and non‑technical audiences
You could also have:
- Experience with automated data workflows (e.g., scripted data cleaning, validation, or reporting)
- Experience with additional statistical software (e.g., R, Python) or database querying (e.g., SQL)
- Experience contributing to publications or conference outputs
