Qualifications and Experience
The successful candidate must possess at minimum, a PhD from a recognized university, which should be in Biostatistics, Statistics or closely related field.
Candidates should also possess:
- Ideally at least three (3) years’ teaching experience, preferably in the area of Biostatistics
- A good record of relevant research and publications in reputable, peer-reviewed journals
- Practical experience in developing and writing statistical analysis plans for research in basic and clinical sciences
- Practical application of statistical principles and analytical methods in SPSS, R, SAS/ STATA software
- Evidence of supervising and conducting research in Public Health
Candidates with the following would have an advantage:
- Master’s degree in Statistics
- Practical experience in strategic curriculum development of postgraduate programmes and training of Public Health professionals
- Teaching experience in Public Health
- Post-doctoral experience in Public Health
- Proficiency in writing research grants and attracting funding
The following would be considered assets:
- Certificate in university teaching and learning
- Familiarity with Problem-Based Learning (PBL) system
- Experience in blended teaching and learning
- Knowledge of Digital Health Technologies, Health Informatic Tools or Machine Learning/Artificial Intelligence in Health Care
