Due to continued growth, we are currently hiring a Senior Data Analyst/Satistician to join our team.

A snapshot of your key responsibilities as Senior Data Analyst would be:

  • Work with business leads and analysts to translate project requirements into data solutions.
  • Conduct data profiling, validation, and quality assessment activities.
  • Develop advanced data analysis solutions using SQL and Python.
  • Identify and communicate trends, anomalies, and insights from complex datasets.
  • Design and deliver clear data visualisations aligned with Department standards.
  • Support the design of the Department’s Data Model for ingestion, transformation, and consolidation.
  • Enhance data quality and integrity through anomaly detection and monitoring frameworks.
  • Optimise performance of the Central Data Reporting platform.
  • Prepare documentation (e.g. data dictionaries, descriptors) to support outputs.
  • Share knowledge with the IT Data Office team via walkthroughs and workshops.

Requirements:

  • Strong technical expertise in SQL and Python.
  • Proven experience in data profiling, validation, and data quality assurance.
  • Ability to design and deliver data visualisations for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret and communicate insights from complex datasets.
  • Experience documenting data definitions and producing supporting materials.
  • Knowledge of data modelling and ETL processes.
  • Familiarity with Azure Data Platform (or other cloud-based platforms).

Desirable:

  • Experience in the public sector or education domain.
  • Understanding of data governance, compliance, and GDPR.
  • Familiarity with shared services environments.
  • Knowledge of BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
