This position is responsible for gathering and analyzing academic statistical data for the Programs and Outcomes Unit within the Academic and Student Affairs Office of the College of Public Health.

The role supports the Assistant Director and Senior Associate Dean for Academic and Student Affairs by preparing reports on academic outcomes, survey data, and program and curriculum processes. The position collaborates with academic departments, college committees, and USF Graduate Studies to manage curriculum-related tasks within the COPH academic process.

Key responsibilities include collecting, organizing, and disseminating academic information across COPH resources such as the catalog, guidebooks, course syllabi archive, and internal databases, ensuring consistency with USF catalogs. The position also assists with the USF Academic Assessment Program to evaluate academic programs.

This role works closely with Health IS, the Office of Decision Support, USF IT, and the Registrar’s Office to develop, enhance, and maintain reporting and data systems. The incumbent directs a system of student data and reports accessible to COPH Deans, department leaders, and administrators, and provides support for Archivum projects as assigned. The position may also represent COPH at ASPPH data committee meetings.

This position meets the FLSA criteria for professional exemption.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the curriculum change process for the College. Serve as Academic Affairs representative on the COPH Education Committee. Work with the committee chair and the College Dean of academics to coordinate committee meetings. Assist College faculty with the creation of curriculum change proposals. Use College, USF and State tools to manage the review, tracking, and dissemination processes for proposals. Provide training on the tools and processes used to propose curriculum change to faculty and staff. Work with other USF units including USF Health, Graduate Studies, Undergraduate Studies, USF Academic Planning to resolve any issues in College proposals and improve processes USF wide.
  • Maintain and update COPH academic information including guidebooks, syllabi, competencies listings and web pages. Coordinate with COPH academic areas, college committees, USF Health, USF Graduate Students, USF Undergraduate Studies, and the COPH Web master to keep academic information current and accurate. Provide support for the COPH syllabus management process, including review of syllabi, assisting with collection of data required for syllabus creation/maintenance, and end user support as needed.
  • Conduct data analysis of qualitative and quantitative academic data using Excel, SPSS, Power BI or other USF tools. Report findings, summarizing where needed, to assist in the internal evaluation of College programs, creation of annual accreditation reports, and assist with data driven decision making by College leadership, faculty, staff and committees. Design and implement standard periodic reports and ad hoc requests utilizing data from COPH, USF, Association of Schools and Programs of Public Health, State Course Numbering System, National Board of Public Health Examiners, and other sources as needed.
  • Serve as a member of the COPH Survey Committee. Coordinate alumni, student exit, and employer surveys for the College by designing survey instruments, administering surveys, analyzing and reporting on the survey results. Create ad hoc surveys as needed and assist faculty and committees with surveys as needed. Assist the Survey committee in reviewing COPH surveys and upkeep of committee surveys.
  • Supervise student assistant in performing duties in support of the Programs and Outcomes team. Provide training as needed on tools used by the team. Review work as needed for correctness and consistency with COPH processes
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Experience:

This position requires a Bachelor's degree in a field directly related to the research or data analysis responsibilities and a minimum of one year of research experience; or a Master's degree in one of the same fields. Progressively responsible work experience may substitute for the college on a year for year basis.

Preferred Experience:

Prefer Master’s degree in Business, Education, Public Health, or Information/Data Management.

Degree Equivalency Clause: Four years of direct experience for a bachelor’s degree.

  • Minimum Qualifications that require a high school diploma are exempt from SB 1310.
