At the Faculty of Engineering and Science, Department of Mathematical Sciences a position as postdoc in an area on the border between probability theory and mathematical physics is open for appointment from 1. of December 2022 or soon hereafter. The position is available for a period of 3 years.
The Department of Mathematical Sciences houses research in both mathematics and statistics and moreover three education programs, Mathematics, Mathematics-Economics, and Mathematics- Technology. Furthermore, several courses for programs in Engineering and Social Sciences are taught by the Department of Mathematical Sciences. Aalborg University is comprised of three campuses, Aalborg, Esbjerg, and Copenhagen. This position is in Aalborg. What we offer:
We offer a postdoc position within the Department of Mathematical Sciences as part of the project “Peculiar Distribution Functions and Interesting Stochastic Processes” granted by the Independent Research Fund Denmark. The selected candidate will be conducting research in close collaboration with researchers from both sections of mathematics and statistics.
What we request:
The selected candidate will hold a PhD in Mathematics and will have promising research results within Probability Theory and/or Mathematical Quantum Mechanics. A solid background within at least two of the following three areas is required: functional and differential equations, stochastic processes, and non-equilibrium quantum evolution.

Appointment as Postdoc presupposes scientific qualifications at PhD–level or similar scientific qualifications. The research potential of each applicant will be emphasized in the overall assessment. Appointment as a Postdoc cannot exceed a period of four years in total at Aalborg University.
