Duties:

The Senior Director of the COS Quantitative Science team will help lead and manage internal and external client analytics, reporting and strategy with an emphasis in Clinical Outcome Assessments (COA). This individual will be directly involved in the planning and implementation of quantitative outcomes research (clinical outcomes assessment) studies to better understand and quantify humanistic clinical benefit within the context of observational or clinical studies.

This role offers the opportunity to work locally and globally on patient centered research studies across multiple therapeutic areas with local and global Regulatory and Payer functions. Measures include patient-, clinician, and observer-reported outcomes to understand epidemiologic, health-related quality of life, and symptomology impact of disease on patients.

Skills:

  • Extensive expertise in statistical methodologies with direct expertise in clinical trial data analysis with an emphasis in patient-centered outcomes research field and the Regulatory environment to support new drug development
  • Extensive knowledge of CDISC standards for supporting clinical trial analysis and related submissions
  • Ability to lead the quantitative team (biostats and statistical programming functions) on the development and execution of statistical analytic plans for large clinical trials including the generation of tables, listings, and figures required to execute the statistical analysis plan (for publication or regulatory submission)
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with the medical communications team on the development of study deliverables including the explanation of methodology and results of analyses to ensure consistency of statistical analyses, interpretation and data reporting within outcomes studies
  • Desire to work on a small team in a fast-paced, client focused environment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, strong desire to be client facing
  • Passion for conducting research and the organizational skills to support that passion
  • Ability to understand and respond to multiple internal and external customer demands
  • Strong interpersonal skills including desire to be client-facing (internal and external)
  • Excellent process and project management skills required
  • Desire to have good work life balance (work hard and enjoy life outside of the work walls)

Education:

  • A Master’s degree, Ph.D. preferred, in biostatistics, epidemiology, psychology, educational psychology, biostatistics, public health, outcomes research, sociology, statistics or related areas is required
  • Extensive experience in conducting and/or leading quantitative research efforts in the health care field
  • High level experience with SAS or related statistical software
