The National Centre for Pharmacoeconomics (NCPE) assesses evidence for comparative effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of technologies for use by patients in Ireland. They provide recommendations regarding the cost-effectiveness of new medicines to the Health Service Executive (HSE). The NCPE also undertakes research to support evidence-based decision making. The Evaluation Team at the NCPE has a multidisciplinary skill mix including staff with backgrounds in medicine, pharmacy, pharmacoepidemiology, statistics and health economics.

​The successful candidate will be required to assist in the work of the Evaluation Team at the NCPE which will include critical appraisal of clinical evidence and economic models submitted by manufacturers to the NCPE, provision of statistical support to the Evaluation Team, development of economic models, systematic review and meta-analysis of clinical evidence, and report writing. The candidate will also be expected to conduct research with the aim of establishing optimal processes for conducting Health Technology Assessments.

Applicants must have:


A primary degree in a relevant area.

A postgraduate degree (Masters, PhD) in statistics, epidemiology or mathematics (or in a related field with a high content of biostatistics or medical statistics). Individuals already undertaking a Masters or Doctorate will be considered eligible.

Advanced technical skills in a relevant area of expertise, for example, evidence synthesis, economic modelling, survival analysis and statistical analysis.
