Your main tasks to perform statistical analyses of clinical trials (e.g. illustrate patterns of health, illness, protective factors and risk behaviours in the DO-HEALTH population) conducted at the CAM. to draft statistical analysis plans in collaboration with Prof. John Orav, PhD, Associate Professor, Harvard Medical School to provide research and methodological support to other staff members and students (Master, Dr. med., PhD) at the CAM including:

  • Study design and contribute to proposal writing in particular for statistical methods and power analysis.
  • Data input and statistical analysis
  • Report writing / manuscript writing / elaboration of tables and figures /presentation of concepts and results
  • Modelling different disease patterns
  • The focus of your research tasks will be defined with regard to your prior research experience.
  • All analyses will use SAS statistical language.

Your profile

  • You have a PhD in biostatistics, epidemiology or a related field You are able to work on multiple projects simultaneously You have excellent SAS programming and data management skills
  • You like to teach, train, supervise students at different levels (Master, Dr. med., PhD)
  • You have excellent organizational skills including written and verbal communication in English (German is a plus)
  • You have a strong desire to study age-related diseases and methods to support healthy aging

Supervision:

Your work at the CAM will be under the direction of Prof. Heike

Bischoff-Ferrari, MD, DrPH who is the director of the CAM and Chair of Geriatrics and Aging Research at the University of Zurich. Your line manager will be Dr. Patricia Chocano, MD, PhD who leads the epidemiology team. For DO-HEALTH you will also be under the supervision of the DO-HEALTH Head Biostatistician (Prof.

John Orav, PhD, Associate Professor, Harvard Medical School).What we offerYou will work within in the international network of DO-HEALTH and other randomized clinical trials, and take advantage of the academic environment / career opportunities at the University of Zurich.Your position will be based at the Centre on Aging and Mobility, University of Zurich, located at the Waid City Hospital in Zurich, Switzerland.

The Centre on Aging and Mobility belongs to the Department of Geriatrics and Aging Research at the University of Zurich and is part of the Geriatric Clinic at the University Hospital Zurich.

The position is initially limited to 1 year, but extension is possible. Salary depends on experience.
